Infrared saunas heat your body deep within your skin while warming the air around you. Because of this, saunas are able to operate at a lower temperature, usually around 140 degrees Fahrenheit, as compared with upwards of 200, while providing the same cardiovascular benefits. This soothes your skin, muscles, and soft tissue. This direct approach to heat therapy offers more frequent access to health benefits, including detoxification, weight loss, pain relief, improved circulation, and stress relief.

Health Benefits:

Detoxification

Throughout history, humans used heat to detoxify the body. Infrared sauna capitalizes on this ancient practice, allowing you to release unwanted chemicals while you sweat and promote collagen growth and healing in the dermis and epidermis layers of your skin.

For Improved Circulation

Your peripheral blood vessels dilate as heat goes through your body, increasing circulation, and reducing blood pressure. It’s no wonder that a study conducted in Finland over a period of 20 years found that increased sauna use resulted in decreased heart disease in men.

For Weight Loss

When combined with a healthy diet and exercise, clinical studies have shown that a person can burn calories roughly equivalent to jogging or swimming for half an hour. This relaxation-based burn can not only aid in weight loss, but also boost your metabolism. Burn up to 300 calories in a single visit!

For Anti-aging and Cellular Health

All living things are made up of cells, and the human body alone is composed of trillions of them. They provide the basic building blocks to life, so that their health is vital to our wellbeing. One of the many benefits of infrared saunas is that they promote cellular health.

For Stress and Depression

After a hard day at work, you can relax inside an infrared sauna while reading a book or listening to music. Since the body isn’t equipped to be in constant high gear, it will instantly benefit from the calming effect of the heat. You can visualize this process as loosening your grip under extreme situations. This relief allows the body to deal more effectively with the nervous system’s response to stressful situations, and ease any adverse effects.

Infrared heat is also considered a good therapy for depression. Because it balances the stress hormones in the body, it is able to enhance mood. In fact, studies reveal that patients who undergo infrared heat therapy show marks of improvement in their pain and anger levels.

Pain Relief and Wound Healing

Infrared saunas have been proven to help treat body aches as well as chronic conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia and other inflammatory conditions. It can also help accelerate wound healing by boosting cell regeneration and your immune system.

For the Athletes

Spending time inside an infrared sauna regularly is good for people who participate in sports or other physical activities. In fact, sports medicine practitioners and coaches insist that their athletes do pre- and post-workout sauna sessions to help prevent injuries and deal with existing bodily pain caused by strenuous physical exertion.

The heat of the infrared sauna eases muscle tension, greatly benefiting the athlete’s body. It also increases flexibility, allowing them to execute a range of motions that would normally strain muscles or tissues. Joint and muscle pain caused by strain, overuse, and repetitive motion can also be addressed with regular sauna use, which promotes faster muscle repair.

With all these benefits, there’s no doubt that infrared saunas are helpful to almost all people. However, just to be on the safe side, consult with your doctor before beginning a sauna therapy routine if you have underlying medical conditions or are taking medications.

What to Wear

Do you really want to sweat? Some people wear a full sweatsuit! Yoga clothes, tank top, t-shirt, and shorts are all very much acceptable. Wear clothing that you feel most comfortable in. Bring a change of clothes if you wish. We provide you a hand towel for your visit.

Hydration

We suggest you drink 24-64 ounces of water before and after your appointment. This will help cleanse/detoxify the body brought on by infrared therapy. Feel free to bring in your reusable water bottle with you during your session.

Sustainability

Our saunas are the most durable on the market because they’re made from 100% natural, untreated Canadian hemlock and cedar sourced from sustainable forests. We pride ourselves on having a small environmental footprint, and our saunas are 99% recyclable.
